Lemon verbena syrup


Description

Fragrant lemon syrup without the food miles 💚

Ingredients

  • Handful lemon verbena leaves
  • 100g sugar
  • 200ml water

Instructions

  1. Put sugar and water into a pan and bring to the boil
  2. Stir until the sugar dissolves
  3. Add lemon verbena leaves and simmer for 5 minutes
  4. Strain through a sieve (or use a piece of muslin for a clearer syrup)
  5. Serve over ice-cream

Notes

Also great on a fruit salad or use as a sweet, sticky glaze for vegetables

Keeps literally FOREVER (!) in a jar in the fridge.
